Dermal fillers are one of the most sought after solutions for wrinkles and sagging skin on the face. Dermal Fillers are also known as: wrinkle fillers, injectable implants and facial soft tissue fillers. This procedure helps in restoring a youthful glow, by making one’s skin look fresher and younger.
The dermal filler may consist of calcium hydroxylapatite, hyaluronic acid, collagen or Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) which is injected in the skin’s dermis, in the deep layer of the skin that contains the natural collagen.
The procedure lasts approximately 15 to 30 minutes. One may choose from the kind of material to be injected (calcium hydroxylapatite, hyaluronic acid, collagen, Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) – whichever is appropriate for the skin. An anaesthetic cream may be applied during the procedure to alleviate any discomfort. The number of repeat injections will depend upon the doctor’s advice.
Expect the treated area to swell and become red, but this is only temporary. It may take a few weeks for the effects to be fully seen.
A combination can also be used as per advice. Botox can be used in conjunction with other skin treatments in order to achieve the desired results.
