The diary of a beauty queen – DMK Enzyme Therapy Masque
So this is a bit of a funny story… last year I entered into a beauty pageant. Something I thought I would never do. This wasn’t just any old beauty pageant either this was Miss Universe. Somehow I made it to the finals of Miss Universe Australia and it ended up being one of the best things I could have ever done. I met some girls I know I will be in contact with for a very long time and it pushed me to do things that I thought I could never do.
Along the journey I learnt some valuable beauty queen tips. I now own the perfect hair extensions, I can give you a complete list of the best spray tans, I can curl my hair into a perfect beauty queen/victoria secret wave, I know how to get the brightest-whitest smile but what I want was introduced was the Danne Montague King (DMK) skin care range.
DMK is a major sponsor of Miss universe Australia. So all us beauty queen finalists had the privilege of receiving a complimentary skin care regime from DMK. We received a number of products including; DMK Transdermal Sunscreen, DMK Biogen C Créme (moisturizer), Milky Clean & Pure Cleanser and one of my favourites the Herb and Mineral Mist Spray.
But the DMK product that I wanted to tell you about the most was the DMK Enzyme Therapy Masque. This is a signature DMK experience and one of the specialties that DMK is famous for. My closest DMK clinic was Elysium in Burleigh Heads. Here the girls introduced me to my first enzyme therapy facial. This facial was like nothing I had experienced before.
Just like a majority of women I am not overly happy about the quality of my skin. And now that I had myself in this beauty pageant I had to get my skin in top performing condition. I wanted a more even skin tone, smaller pores, less breakouts and firmer looking skin. Hell I wanted it all, don’t we all?
The first part of my facial was beautifully relaxing just like any other favourite facial, but when it came to my enzyme masque I must admit that it did feel a little uncomfortable and strange but the result was amazing.
The skin tightening enzyme masque was prepared by my DMK Skin professional Alyssa and applied with brush strokes to my face and neck. Alyssa left no questions unanswered and by the time it came to question time she really had covered absolutely everything. She explained to me that enzymes are nature’s biological catalysts. Enzymes are living substances that regulate health and work with certain minerals in the body to form a natural system of antioxidants that fight corrosive free radicals. Properly formulated, they can remove dead protein, toxins and other effluvia from the epidermis using a process called ‘reverse osmosis’.
As quickly as the masque is applied it begins to set. The masque was left on my face to completely set for an hour. Whilst the mask takes full effect to set it can get a little uncomfortable as it gets tighter on the skin. But I couldn’t really think of the masque as I enjoyed an amazing foot and hand massage.
By the end I could not move my face and I could hardly talk as the masque was so tight and dry. When Alyssa removed my masque I must admit it was a delightful relief but underneath was an even bigger surprise. I was handed a mirror to find my skin looking like some form of alien skin. Alyssa had explained to me that the masque draws all the blood to the top player of the skin. This looks like lots of little veins all over the skin but that quickly disappears and I was left with the most beautiful looking and feeling skin I have ever seen on anyone let alone me! The compliments I received in the following days and weeks after the treatment were a testimonial to how well the treatment had worked.
Thankfully I was given a mini skin tightening enzyme masque to take home and apply myself. I must admit though, it is nothing like having the in clinic experience. I highly recommend it, the experience is something you will not regret and I will definitely be heading back for another one soon.
